Paul is a fringe candidate because his ideas are considered outside of the mainstream.

That’s not always a bad thing though. In fact, the Republican Party has been moving in Paul’s direction in recognizing, for instance, that the Federal Reserve is to blame for much of the nation’s current economic predicament.

What exactly makes Ron Paul a fringe candidate but not Rick Perry? He’s polling better in New Hampshire and Iowa than Rick and in the other states they’re about even.

The Republican stage is a bit dull. Newt is not a conservative fit, the ones that are won’t get the general nomination (Paul and Huntsman), and Romney is just.. Romney. No one gets excited about Romney.

Rick Perry is a gay-bashing Texan that no one wants to see win it. Romney will most likely win, but there will no one there to clap for him when he does.
