Project Arbiter

There is a group of movie makers drumming up support for a new, dieselpunk film called Project Arbiter.

Back story: A special OSS unit that collects, steals and develops the best technology to battle the Nazis. A U.S. Army Captain leads this ongoing war by donning an experimental armored exoskeleton.

Yes, familiar themes, but when you watch the teaser trailer-  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ga97MKOhOs0 - and see the conceptual artwork (bottom) Project Arbiter appears to be an idea that is head and shoulders above the rest.

Re: Project Arbiter

Great imagery indeed. THe plot doesn't seem to be too original, but hey, it's crickey Nazi stuff, so what the heck.

Re: Project Arbiter

True, plot is rather similar to many other WWII/Dieselpunk stories. But the imagery, production quality (smartly using reenactors and real weapons/tanks) helped. Attention to detail and talent can make unknown film makers go a long way.

Re: Project Arbiter

I love how they used the 1911 a few times. Great trailer, I hope it comes along. Any word on whats up with Iron Skies?

Nothing like the snapping slide of a good old Colt 1911. True WWII American fighting prowess. And still going strong too!

They've been posting quite a lot recently on their myspace page, but they're focussing on Star Wrecked at the moment - probably to do with the US release on DVD, and fund raising for Iron Skies.

The guy is somewhat a cross between a storm trooper and the ghost-like scientist from Hellboy.
