Not pictures but I found this documentary on Colombian bush pilots absolutly fascinating. Some of the things they do, such as navigating through clouds by (mainly) dead reckoning or refilling the fuel tanks by barrel and bucket are straight out of the 30's. The fact that they fly good'ol DC3's is just the icing on the cake.

Thanks. Pretty amazing stuff in 2011, like straight out of High Citadel (by Desmond Bagley). I put the film on my blog, since it would fit in some of my stories. One resonse I have got was "That's like Traveller". And I am bound to agree: Traveller book C47: Aviator.

I hold the little girl's hand
I wrestle the wildfire
I share the pain
Because if not I, who? If not now, when?

Re: Airplanes

I'm actually working on a couple of long stories for Never Was right now, one about weird aircraft of the Third Reich and another about unusual aircraft designs of the USA.

Re: Airplanes

Very cool! Thank you, sir. My uncle once worked on a really weird project, back during the early 1960's. I suppose it would come under Atomicpunk. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid … mp;theater

Re: Airplanes

Yes! I remember reading about that one a while back. Will definitively go on the list, thanks!
