Topic: Special Edition of the Gatehouse Gazette Released

All good things must come to an end but not indefinitely. Although we suspended regular publication of the Gatehouse Gazette last year, we didn't want 2012 to go by without at least one installment of the dieselpunk and steampunk magazine. So I proudly present our thickest issue to date: a 1940s themed special edition of the Gatehouse Gazette.

The magazine has a survey of Spanish steampunk by Jose Francisco Alfaya of Decimononic; a lengthy review of Peter Tsouras' collection of alternate history stories Third Reich Victorious by Larry Amyett of the Dieselpunk blog; a collection of forgotten technologies by Lorenzo Davia; an essay by Marcus Rauchfuß of The Traveler's Steampunk Blog about Nazi aesthetics in the dieselpunk genre; a feature by Tome Wilson of Dieselpunks.org about dieselpunk milestones; and, as always, a Steampunk Wardrobe column by Hilde Heyvaert of House of Secrets Incorporated about noir fashion styles.

The prodigal son (or magazine) for Steampunk and Dieselpunk has returned, albeit on a limited basis!  The exceptional Mr. Ottens (and his diligent associates) have released issue number 22 of the Gatehouse Gazette, much to the pleasure of the greater Steampunk and Dieselpunk circles - so to enjoy excellent articles, such as insight to the upcoming European Steampunk Convention, Spanish Steampunk, an introspective on the legendary Raymond Chandler, and much, much more

The Gatehouse Gazette is back with a 54-page special edition from its slumber and these pages have what it takes. The focus this time on the 1940s and in addition to interesting articles there are a lot of contemporary photos to admire Noir and dieselpunk aesthetic. Great job!

In the current issue of the Gatehouse Gazette there is an article about the "Europen Steampunk Convention", written by Marcus Rauchfuß, the initiator and organizer of the convention. Required reading for steam and diesel punks!

In first place it must be said that the Gatehouse Gazette is a regular publishing in English about Steampunk and Dieselpunk that has been published since 2008, so we're talking about an outstanding work in these themes. And in the last number, that you can read here, José Francisco Alfaya, friend and follower of this blog and creator of the steampunk jewellery brand Decimononic, made a report about the situation of the Steampunk in Spain, and, although short, Tea in the Clockwork Yard has its own mention among the few blogs of this movement in the national scene. It's not a whole report, but we're more than proud of it. Take a look to the gazette, because it's great.

Along with all of these great articles, the issue is simply beautiful visually. It’s a sophisticated as anything printed by a major publisher. The art, photography, and layout are amazing making the magazine pure eye candy.
