2008: John Edwards is elected President of the United States.

2009: The United States is unable to maintain their War on Terrorism for much longer, due to budgetary reasons. President Edwards pulls most oversees back home.

2011: Without US control on the region, the Near East becomes a nightmare zone of terrorist attacks and war. Relations between the United States and the European Union worsen.

2013: Newly-elected President Fitzgerald B. Mason allows Secretary of Defence Margaret Jameson to modernize, rebuild and revamp the US military. While modernizing the military, the Mason Administration refuses to face the United States' social problems.

Meanwhile, facing a terrorist threat in the Middle East, the United States and Britain secretly sign the Treaty of Humanity. The treaty allows the US and the United Kingdom to work together against any nation or group whos actions are deemed a threat for the greater good of mankind.

Both the United States and Britain lay the keels of the first of their respective classes of modern battleships.

2015: A relatively small terrorist faction seizes control of a Pakistani missile base, and launch its nuclear arsenal on the Israelian city of Tel Aviv. The Israelian military responds in destroying the Pakistani military base, therewith also causing the destruction of neighbouring cities. Syria, Saudi-Arabia, and Iran declare war on the state of Israel, and invade. The United States and the United Kingdom declare war on these three nations, and launch an invasion of the Middle East.

2017: What is now known as the Arabian War results in large-scale fighting between the United States, the United Kingdom and Israel versus most of the Middle Eastern nations, with the exception of several smaller nations that remain neutral throughout the conflict.

India uses the war as an excuse to launch an invasion of neighbouring Pakistan. Under the burden of terrorism, the Indonesian government is overthrown, plunging the country into anarchy.

Taiwan is invaded by China, but the international community is unable to retaliate. Indonesia denies the United States use of its military installations for their war in the Near East, whilst Japan gathers on the side of the western nations in fighting the East. The war soon escalates in what will become known as the Third World War.

2019: Facing terrorist attacks on its own soil, Mexico pledged for US support. The United States and Mexico form the American Alliance.

2021: Now-President Margaret Jameson pressurizes Mexico, severely weakened in its fight on terrorism, to merge with the United States, forming the American Republic.

The United States and the United Kingdom sigh the Treaty of Empires, allowing them to take over any nations that is unstable and deemed a threat to the world. The treaty allows the United States and its allies, now united in the United Pacific Pact to take over government control of Indonesia.

That same year, liberal factions overthrow the Philippines' theocratic government, soon after the Philippines joining the UPP. Japan also becomes a member.

2022: The Near East being stabilized by United States and United Kingdom having installed western-friendly governments in the region, India is taken over by the British, officially as punishment for their brutal invasion of Pakistan. The British parliament and the monarchy are in favour of the imperialistic expansionalism of the United Kingdom, and thus soon the UK becomes known as the British Empire.

China still in turmoil after the war, the communist government is overthrown by the United Pacific Pact, and installed as UPR territory.

2023: The United Pacific Pact becomes now known as the United Pacific Republic, being a democratic, federation authority, ruling from Washington D.C. China's new national government is installed as full member.

The UPR invades Cuba due to its sending of immigrant-filled bomb-loaded boats against coast guard ships, to great discontent of the European Union. The union, however, is too weakened to act, and Cuba soon becomes a UPR member, the fidelistic government of the island being overthrown.

2025: Several of the small Central American nations degrade into guerrilla wars, and are overthrown by UPR armies.

Control over Kuwait is granted to the UPR by the British, who now hold most of the Near East region, including Pakistan and India.

2026: In Russia, the "democratic" regime is overthrown by neo-Soviet factions, support by the general public, who still remember to good old days under Soviet rule. Russia seeks to become a world power, and quickly occupied all of the former Soviet satellite states.

Student uprisings in France are financially supported from Moscow, leading to a neo-Trotskyan coup in French parliament. Without the support from the general public, the new regime is quickly overthrown, but France remains unstable.

The European Union is no longer. With Britain having stepped out of the alliance, France falling into decay, and Spain and Germany being generally anti-West, the remaining nations meet in Brussels, and agree the European Union has failed. The Benelux nations, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden make the first steps into what will become known as the North European Union.

2027: Spain invades Gibraltar. The Spanish army is able to fight off the greatly outnumbered British battalion in the colony, and makes it part of Spain.

The Royal Navy fleet at Gibraltar withdraws to Devonport. London urges Spain to withdraw from Gibraltar, or else retaliation will follow. The Spanish government ignores the British warning, and Gibraltar is soon retaken by the British, causing major bloodshed among the Spanish army.

2027 - Units of the Spanish Army move over the border to Gibraltar, and fight the British Battalion based there. The British Army in Gibraltar is outnumbered, and therefore the colony is taken over by Spain. The Royal Navy Fleet at Gibraltar is retreated to Devonport. The British government warns the Spanish government that if it does not withdraw from Gibraltar immediately, force will be used to remove the Spanish forces there. The Spanish ignore the warnings, and the RN Gibraltar Fleet sails the colony. On August 12th, HMS Hood, Lion and Duke of York (escorted by a Fleet of 48 ships) bombard Spanish positions in the city, causing carnage.
Once the Spanish have been repulsed from Gibraltar, King Charles, the Prime minister, and the House of Commons agree in a unanimous vote - to invade Spain, as revenge for invading Gibraltar. The invasion is planned quickly, within the space of a month, and on September 7th , 62 Stealth Bomber’s from RAF Odiham, West Drayton and Northolt attack the Spanish city of Bilbao, causing massive amounts of damage.
On September 29th, after nearly a month of brutal air attacks, the Spanish retaliate by sending 46 bomber’s to attack HMS Hermes battle group in the Bay of Biscay. During this attack, one Spanish aircraft successfully hit’s the Hermes, and after another hit, it explodes, and sinks instantly. The sinking of Hermes was a shock to the British Public, believing the Ark Royal Carriers to be invincible. Therefore, The British Government, along with the Ministry of Defence, plan a major - all out assault against Spain.

2028 - After several months of minor skirmishs, the British Armed Forces plan for one of the largest battles in history, with units of all Forces playing a part.
On January 11th, 214 ships of the British Grand/Home Fleet sail from Scapa Flow to Spain. The Fleet arrives in the bay of Biscay and is met by the Spanish Fleet, made up of 43 ships. The British Fleet completely destroys the Spanish Fleet, leaving over nearly 3000 Spanish sailors dead. This ruthless action causes outrage in Spain, and soon, the grand fleet comes under attack from Spanish aircraft. The Fleet has no looses, where as the Spanish Air force looses massive amounts of aircraft, nearly half of their total number. With the Spanish navy and Air force completely crippled, the British Army are landed in Northern Spain. With support from the RAF and the Royal navy, the Army quickly gains control of Northern Spain.

2029 - After a year of fighting, Spain falls under complete British Control, and becomes part of the British Empire. Large amounts of protesters gather in Barcelona, urging for action against their British oppressors, but no action can be taken as the British Armed forces have absolute control of Spain ,and the British Empire is the most powerful Empire on the planet, therefore the Spanish could not be able to gain support against them. Spain slowly accepts being part of the British Empire.

2027: After a year of decay and near-anarchy. Neo-Communists finally gain a foothold on the government of France there power rapidly expands, and are officially recognized as the government of France. France becomes the Soviet Republic of France. It quickly allies itself with the U.S.S.R. The B.E. quickly starts reinforcing its beachheads and constructing defenses along the coasts.
