June 20, 2005: Finally an update: added
the Next Generation section to
forgotten trek. Besides information on the development of the second Star
Trek series and, of course, concept art images, it includes biographies
on the main characters of the series. So far, those of Commander Riker, Lt.
Commander Data, Dr. Crusher and Guinan are finished. Special thanks goes to
user
SmokeDetector47, who wrote the excellent Riker and Crusher articles for
Memory Alpha, and now
republished here.
May 4, 2005: Added a new editorial on
America.
May 2, 2005: Added a new editorial on
gun control to the editorials
section and updated the linkage page.
April 27, 2005: Congratulations to the
Federation Starship Datalink
for being awarded with the Elegance award. Additionally, I added two
articles to the editorials section: one on abortion and one on sex
education in the United States.
April 26, 2005: Completed the brasília
page in the historical archives' architecture section. Additionally,
I made a number of navigational updates in the home section, specifically on
the about and awards pages.
April 24, 2005: Thanks to
JD
for awarding Ottens Library with his Fleet Admiral Award. Added the
editorials section to your right, which will include articles about my
opinion on political, economical and sociological topics.
April 22, 2005: An architecture
section has been added to the historical archives, containing information
about architecture under the Soviet Union and Fascist Italy. Also, the
germania page has been updated with additional images.
April 17, 2005: A lot of technical
updates, most of which you will probably not even notice. To start with, the
site's background image is now finally compatible with screenresolutions up
to 1280 by 1024 pixels. Secondly, the background colour of the images was
apparently different from the site's background colour, so that has now been
corrected. Additionally, I seperated the phase two and motion
picture pages in the forgotten trek section...
April 14, 2005: It has been exactly a
month since I last updated, which really is quite a long time for me,
so therefore this notice. Quite frankly, I don't know what to update.
I have a minutiae section in Victorian Steampunk yet to be filled
with more interesting... stuff, but I don't really have an idea what to
include. Therefore, I'm starting up a new "policy": visitors to my site may
email me if they think they
can contribute to the website, meaning if you have written up an article
which you think could well be included here, then please mail it to me and I
will have a look at it. This is no guarantee your submitted article will be
posted, since I do expect a high level of quality. Naturally, you will be
properly credited for your work.
Also, for the steampunk-fans among you, I
would like to point you to this
website, which I created overnight for a new role play game I'm running
together with some friends over at our
forums at nov net...
March 14, 2005: After talking it over
with Makaveli, I decided to have my website's forums housed at the
nov-net forum. There is
plenty of room for discussion on history, politics, science and general
happenings there, plus nov-net houses a number of role play games, one of
which I myself am involved in. Please head over there, sign up and join the
club!
March 9, 2005: Added the occultism
page to the third reich mysticism section.
February 23, 2005: Added the history
section, detailing the fictional history of Earth throughout the 21st and
22nd century, to the forgotten trek section.
February 19, 2005: Heavily expanded the restoration and victorian pages in the historical archives
restoration section. Also added the about page.
February 8, 2005: The architecture
page in the victorian steampunk minutiae section is up.
February 7, 2005: The Phase II and The Next Generation pages in the forgotten trek section are completed.
Also there is now a comic books page available in the new victorian
steampunk minutiae section.
February 5, 2004: As you can see, some
changes to the navigation have been made. You can find all Third
Reich-relevant pages in the third reich history section (which
includes Albert Speer architecture), and classic concept art and costume
design of the old star trek series and movies in the new forgotten trek
section.
February 4, 2005: Since I haven't been
working on the New Traveller's Almanac pages of the victorian steampunk
pages, I decided to put up something else there: classic science-fiction
magazine covers, most of which are not steampunk, though, but still fun...
January 26, 2004: Updated the historical
library eugenics page with a new theory regarding the admittance of
the 52nd United States state, as suggested so by Sean Crago.
January 18, 2004: My, webmaster
Palaeogothica of
Steampunk: Victorian Adventures in a Past that Wasn't and webmaster
Krzysztof of
Retrostacja steampunk & pulp
are currently in the process of starting up a
forum dedicated
to steampunk, mysteries and history. Please note that we're still working
out the details, and that names and boards at the forums are all still under
discussion...
January 16, 2005: We are not affiliated
with the great steampunk website
Retrostacja steampunk & pulp.
Definately worth a visit.
January 15, 2005: Added the mittelwerk
page about the German underground factories in the Harz Mountains to the
mysteries and occult reich section.
January 10, 2004: What was formerly known
as the Third Reich History section is now called mysteries and occult,
there it now includes also other mysteries besides that of Nazi-Germany. On
the reich section is also a new page concerning the flying disc
in development. The new soviet section is also under construction,
but so far includes information concerning the kept-secret Soviet
space-weapon program.
Furthermore, we are now affiliated with
the website Steampunk: Victorian Adventures in a Past that Wasn't. Certainly a
must-read for any fan of the steampunk genre.
January 1, 2004: Updated the
federation page of the historical library with information on the
politics of the major powers from Star Trek.
December 28, 2004: Updated the flying
disks pages of the third reich mysteries section.
December 26, 2004: Updated the linkage
page and created a new banner; I will be working on two other new banners in
the future, those probably focussed on Third Reich history and architecture.
Also some minor updates in the victorian steampunk section,
but nothing major.
December 17, 2003: Work on the victorian
steampunk section is progressing; the early victorian pages are now
all completed, save for the introduction to that era that I will still have
to write. Also, almost all of the late victorian section is up, and
I'm currently working on the New Traveller's Almanac section.
December 13, 2004: Lots of changes: first
of all, our forums have moved. Since delta.place is practically dead, we
decided to move to Simon's boards, the
Blackadder
Society forums. Of course, there's place for discussion on everything
you can think up, and there is a place for historical and steampunk
discussion also. Talking about steampunk, I'm launching a new section, the victorian steampunk pages. Here, you can find the history of the
steampunk British Empire, influenced greatly by the League of
Extraordinary Gentleman comic book series. Unfortunately for all
Trek-fans, I've decided to drop the star trek section. This is mostly due to
disintrest on my site, but the star trek concept art is still online. You
can always find it at
http://www.robsacc.nl/images/concept_art/.
November 28, 2004: Updated the third
reich mysteries section. It now includes pages on antarctica, the
Nazi atomic device, German foo fighters and flying disks,
and Ohrdruf mystery.
November 24, 2004: Again a new design. It
still has a lot of elements from the previous layout, but now the site is
divided into four main sections, to which you can navigate using the links
above. A submenu will then appear to your right... Furthermore, there are
also updates to the content: I've rewritten the imperialism and
revolution pages, as well as some much-needed grammer checking to the
ancient egypt, hellas, and rome, and the world wars
pages. Currently, I'm working on the third reich philosophy, and the modern and ancient egypt architecture pages.
Please, if you find any errors or bad
grammer, don't hesitate to
contact me, also if you just feel you need to comment on the new design,
or the features of this website. I sincerely hope you like and enjoy the new
layout, and will be able to find everything you are looking for.
November 15, 2004: Some updated to the
third reich appendix: added the mysticism page, which now includes
information on the Unterberg legend, and will hopefully include more on Nazi
occult later on. Other updates to the mysteries page, with new
images, documents, and quotes confirming the existence of Nazi flying
saucers, and also new images concerning Antarctica.
November 7, 2004: My apoligies for the
lack of updates lately. Besides being bussy with school work, I'm working on
a new website for my parents' company, and I'm trying to keep up with a
number of role play games and projects. Furthermore, due to lack of interest
on my behalf, I have decided to take down my blog for the time being - I
simply don't have the time and interest to regulary update it, which is a
requirement for any blog.
Anyhow, I will try to work on some
updates, but I can't promise anything. For now, I have made some minor
changes to my banners (which can be found on the linkage page), and I have
added a link to our forums at
delta.place to your right.
November 1, 2004:
Ex Astris Scientia has been
awarded with Ottens Library's Elegance award. Congratulations to webmaster
Bernd Schneider.
October 20, 2004: As you'll notice, the
design of the Ottens Library has been altered somewhat. I've made several
changed to the colour scheme, added a background image, and made some
revisions to the several sections - the ancients and antiquity section are
now one; the federation politics page can be found under star trek politics;
the alternate history page is gone, all what if scenarios relevant to the
Third Reich can be found under third reich (which was previously called the
nazism page); the star trek interior design section is gone; the star wars
concept art section is gone. The removed of the two latter is due to space
limitations on my behalf. I am simply unable to maintain such a great
ammount of large images on my server...
October 16, 2004: Added the ancients
section to the historical library. There you find pages about the ancient
civilizations of Mu, Hyperborea, Agartha and
Atlantis... Also added pictures to the nazism philosophy page.
October 14, 2004: Some small revisions to
the home page. I've added a link button to our community hosted at
delta.place to the left, and you'll also notice a button leading to "ottens
blog". What used to be the editorials can now be found there, alongside with
other stuff you can expect to find on a blog...
October 10, 2004: Added the nazism
philosophy page.
October 2, 2004: Ottens Library and
Aegyptica Antica welcome
To Bodly Go... The History
of the Enterprise to our forums at delta.place! Any comment regarding
either three websites can be placed in the "member sites" board at
delta.place. Besides, there is of course room for discussion on a wide
variety of subjects, and delta.place
also houses the forums to several RPGs.
September 29, 2004: Added the ancient
rome and ancient egypt pages to the architecture section. The
ancient rome page is completed, while I'm still working on the egypt page.
September 21, 2004: Five new concept art
images from Star Wars episode III: Revenge of the Sith in the star wars
concept art section.
September 18, 2004: Please note that I
have a new email adress. All mail is now to be sent to
n.ottens@gmail.com.
September 14, 2004: Added lots of new
image to the albert speer berlin images page of the New German
Reichschancellery.
September 8, 2004:
Added the webdesign page to the linkage section, where there are some
previous layouts of this website exhibited. Also added the nazism
section to the historical appendix, which so far includes information about
nazi conspiracies and the Nazi Germany government.
September 4, 2004:
Added the society page to the star trek
philosophy
section.
August 29, 2004:
Updated the interior design page of the Galaxy class. New information
on crew support facilities, and several new screencapture images.
August 25, 2004:
Major albert speer updated. Now reachable through most of the pages
is an image gallery. Many new images of the Germania models, the New Reichs
Chancellery and the Nuremberg rally grounds. Also new is an essay by Albert
Speer on The Führer's Buildings.
August 22, 2004:
Updated the star trek concept art section. A few new images in the
deep space nine section, and newly-scanned concept art images to the new the movies section.
Thanks to
U.S.S.
Admiral Federation Awards Team for awarding the Ottens
Library with their Golden Excellence Award.
August 19, 2004:

four new images scanned from the The Next Generation The Movies
Sketchbook. Also added several more pictures to the albert speer
section (of the Germania models and of the Zepplin field).
August 17, 2004:
Made a start to the deep space nine pages in the star trek
interior design section. Also updated the eugenics wars and
united earth pages, as well as the linkage section.
August 13, 2004:
Cleaned up the editorials section. Changed the navigation to make it
fit in with the rest of the site, and - for all American still considering
voting Republican Party in the upcoming elections - I added a george bush
article to the editorials.
August 11, 2004:
Some nitpicking throughout the website. Thanks for Delta for pointing out
some errors.
August 9, 2004:
Uploaded a new design. The most notable change is to the navigation, which I
think makes navigation through the website much more simple, and quicker.
Some of the not-so-necessary articles have been removed, though most has
survived the revision.
August 3, 3004: Due
to space limitations, several images from the star trek galleries
have been removed. Most, however, can still be found there. The star wars
art section has been updated with a lot of episode one and
classic trilogy concepts. Other minor updating to the albert speer,
star trek concept art and star trek enterprise sections.
July 27,
2004: Added the star wars art section to the site, which contains a
large collection of Star Wars concept art.
July 25, 2004: No one is seriously
reading all this updates, right?
July 21, 2004: Added two new
alternate history scenarios to the what if...? page; one about the
Schlieffen Plan, and a second about the possible Soviet invasion of western
Europe.
July 19, 2004: Updated the
historical appendix. Cleared up the entire section; moved the philosophy, politics, schauberger and tesla pages to the
"historical" page, and added the what if..? section, which discusses
several alternate history scenarios.
July 12, 2004: Star Trek
galleries update. Added several new images from Enterprise, and some
images of actors and characters.
July 2, 2004: My apoligies for the
lack of updates lately. I've been bussy adding and editting articles over at
memory alpha. For those who are not
familiar with it yes, it's basically a Star Trek wikipedia. Everyone is able
to add of edit articles, and so create the most definitive, accurate, and
accessible encyclopedia and reference for everything related to Star Trek.
Check it out, if you haven't yet...
June 25, 2004: Updated the star
trek enterprise section with a page about the Galaxy class
Enterprise-D. Also added images to the original Enterprise page.
June 24, 2004: Added the
enterprise section to the star trek appendix. Though it currently
contains information on the original Enterprise only, I plan to add more
about the Enterprise-D in the future. The romulus page has been moved
to the 2150-2200 pages.
June 22, 2004: Made some updates
throughout the website. Most notably I added an the Legend of Untersberg
page to the knights templar page in the middle ages section.
June 20, 2004: I added several
scanned concept art images from the Art of Star Trek book. The entire concept art section has been updated, mostly with new material from
the book, and some background info.
June 19, 2004: Today, I bought a
copy of The Art of Star Trek. It is really a great book, and I
recommend every fan of concept art to buy it. I'm planning to scan some of
the images I haven't yet at my website, so I may be updating the concept art
section soon.
Furthermore, the Ottens Lexicon is
proud to have won its first award (the first with this new design,
actually). Unimatrix 0-1 has awarded the site with their Unimatrix 0-1
award. Thanks to webmaster Matosic!
June 18, 2004: Did some minor
cleaning-up in the linkage section. Most notably, I moved my own
banners to the main linkage section. Also, I set up a blog for myself.
Check it out at
ottens.blogdrive.com.
June 15, 2004: Updated the
romulus page with information on Romulan history and society, and added
a few new images to that page.
June 13, 2004: Added the romulus
page to the star trek appendix. I will probably expand it later, with more
historical information. Besides, our forums are now up at
deltanet.uni.cc/forums.
June 12, 2004: Removed the temporal
cold war page for now; it may return in the future. Note that our forums at
delta.place are in the process of moving to a new server.

renaissance and federation sections. Also added the nazi
germany and totalitarian pages to the world wars section.
May 19, 2004: I finished the

section, and thereby the entire Library is up and running. Therefore, I
decided to upload the new design to the site's main server.
